Project ConnectProject Connect

Young men who have sex with men (YMSM) are some of the most at risk people for HIV, 7 in 10 new US HIV diagnoses among the Hispanic/Latino communicty occur in YMSM and Black/African American YMSM account for more US HIV diagnoses than any other group. LIAAC's Project Connect care navigators provide free counseling, testing, and referrals for Long Island's young men of color who have sex with men from ages 16 to 29.

Services include:

  • Chlamydia and Gonorrhea screening
  • Syphilis screening
  • Viral Hepatitis C screening
  • Couples HIV testing
  • Personalized cognitive counseling
  • Risk assessment and reduction planning
  • Referrals to care for positive screenings
  • Free condoms
  • Condom negotiation program
  • Additional services for HIV+ individuals
